Never Leave a Customer In the Dark

Trackara Link connects your Pro account straight to your customer's phone. Sound Familiar?

Being the Only Source of Information Is Exhausting

Every mobile mechanic ends up being tech support, receptionist, and status hotline for every job in progress. Here's what that actually looks like.

Constant Status-Check Calls

Your customer calls twice a day to ask if the car's ready. You're under a hood with greasy hands and have to stop, wipe off, and explain the same three sentences again.

Ghosted After Drop-Off

You finish the brake job, text a photo, and never hear from them again until they need an oil change six months later, if they remember you at all.

No Way to Prove the Work

A customer questions the bill because they never saw what actually happened between drop-off and pickup. All they have is your word and an invoice.

What You Get

A Direct Line to Every Customer, On Your Terms

Not a group chat and not a portal you have to remember to check. Updates flow from the same job you're already working on.

Live Build Updates

Push milestones, photos, and status the moment they happen. Your customer's app updates in real time, no group texts, no photos getting buried in Messages.

Customer View Switchboard

Choose exactly what's visible per project: milestones, photos, notes, documentation, budget, parts, maintenance. Toggle each on or off. Nothing goes out until you push it.

Client or Vehicle-Scoped Codes

Generate a code for a whole customer or a single vehicle. A fleet manager gets one code per truck; a daily-driver customer gets one code for their car.

Self-Service Booking

Your customer books their next appointment right from the app, straight into the same booking queue you already manage today. No new inbox to check.

Vehicle Health Sharing Rolling Out

An optional add-on that shares OBD2 diagnostics (trouble codes, battery voltage, odometer) back to you automatically. Currently rolling out to select shops.

One Device, One Code

Codes are unguessable and revocable at any time, the same trust model as your invoice links. Re-entering a code on a new device automatically kicks the old one, so a lost phone isn't a security hole.

How It Works

From Generated to Booked Again

There's no separate app to configure and no customer account to create. A Trackara Link code moves through four steps, start to finish.

Your customer downloads Trackara (free), enters the code you gave them, and confirms it's your shop. That's it, they're connected.

Works on their phone, no download required to receive it Text, email, copy link, or QR code, they can view the invite before ever opening the app.
Curated, not raw access Your customer never sees your project doc. They see exactly what you push, when you push it.
Extend, revoke, or add Health anytime Manage every active code from the client's record: extend the term, revoke access, or upgrade to Health Sharing.
How a Code Moves

Same code, four stages, start to finish.

Step 1

Generated

Client or vehicle record  ·  Invite to follow

Step 2

Sent

Text, email, or QR code at pickup

Step 3

Claimed

Customer enters the code in the Trackara app

Step 4

Every push updates their garage instantly

How It Plays Out

Not Hypothetical. This Is What Actually Happens

Four situations that come up constantly for mobile mechanics and RV techs, and what changes once a code is active.

The Build That Sits for Three Weeks, and Nobody Panics

A customer drops off a project car for a full track-prep build: cage, brakes, suspension, the works. Three weeks with the car sitting in your bay used to mean a call every few days asking if it's still alive. Now you push a milestone the moment the brake kit goes on, a photo when the cage gets welded, a note when a part gets delayed. The customer checks the app the way they'd track a package, not out of worry, more because watching it come together is half the fun of paying for it. By pickup, there's no "wait, what did you actually do to it" conversation. They already watched it happen.

Twelve Trucks, One Fleet Manager, Zero Status Meetings

A commercial account brings you a dozen service vans on a rotating maintenance schedule. Every vehicle gets its own code, scoped to that specific unit, so when Van 7 is in for brakes and Van 3 is getting a battery, the fleet manager isn't scrolling past eleven other trucks to find the one they asked about. Turn on Vehicle Health Sharing once it's rolled out to your account, and a low battery voltage or a stored trouble code can reach you before the driver notices, instead of a truck going down on a Tuesday with zero warning.

She's Already on the Road When the Generator Gets Fixed

An RV owner drops her rig off the week before a six-week trip, and the generator issue needs a part that takes a few days to land. That's normally a shop stuck playing phone tag with someone who's already left town. Instead, she's getting milestone updates from a campground three states away, sees the part land, sees the repair get logged, and books her next service stop before she's even back in range of your shop. The job doesn't stall out waiting on a callback either side has time for.

The Customer Who Questioned the Bill, Then Didn't

Six weeks after a suspension job, a customer's insurance adjuster asks for proof the work was actually done before processing a related claim. Instead of digging through old text threads hoping you still have the photos, the customer opens their own Trackara app: every milestone, every photo, timestamped, still sitting right there. No re-explaining, no "let me call the shop and ask." The record was already in their pocket, because it was never yours to hold onto in the first place.

It Becomes a Real Project in Their Garage

Your customer doesn't get a stripped-down viewer or a separate site to remember. The build materializes as an actual project in their own Trackara app, right alongside anything else they're tracking, with the same progress ring, budget bar, and task count they already know how to read.

That's why they keep coming back to check it: it's not a marketing gimmick bolted onto the invoice, it's just their app, doing what it already does.

Trackara Link FAQ

Answers for mobile mechanics

What does my customer see when I send them a Trackara Link code?

Once they enter the code in the free Trackara app, their build appears as a live project in their own garage: the milestones you've marked done, any photos you've shared, budget and spend if you choose to show it, parts and maintenance items, and any notes you've written for them. Nothing shows until you push it.

Does my customer need to pay for the Trackara app?

No. The Trackara app is a separate free download for your customers on iPhone and Android. Their Trackara Link code is what connects that app to your shop.

How much does Trackara Link cost?

Generating and managing codes is included with your Trackara Pro subscription. Connecting an active customer costs $20 per year per code, billed to your shop. There's no extra monthly fee and no limit on how many customers you connect.

Can I control exactly what my customer sees?

Yes. Every project has a Customer View switchboard: milestones, photos, notes, documentation, budget, parts, and maintenance, each toggled independently. Nothing is visible until you push an update, so your internal notes and margins stay internal.

Can my customer book their next appointment through Trackara Link?

Yes. Once connected, your customer can book straight into your existing scheduling pipeline from inside the Trackara app, the same booking requests you already see and confirm today.

What is Vehicle Health Sharing?

An optional add-on that lets a customer's OBD2 scan data, including trouble codes, battery voltage, and odometer, flow back to you automatically, so you know about a check-engine light or a low battery before they call. It's currently rolling out to select shops.

Is a Trackara Link code tied to one customer or one vehicle?

Either, your choice. Generate a client-scoped code to connect one customer across every vehicle they bring you, or a vehicle-scoped code for fleets and multi-driver situations where each unit needs its own connection.
